Positive weekend in Rocky Point | Business

During this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday Rocky Point received over 20,000 visitors leaving more than 8.5 million pesos.

Just in the month of March Rocky Point had had an influx of 80,000 tourists who are estimated to have represented an economic benefit of nearly $2,700,000.

"We had a good weekend in Puerto Penasco with the arrival of 20,000 tourists just during Friday, Saturday and Sunday, this represents a 10 percent increase compared to last year"  - Mayor Alejandro Zepeda

The presence of vacationers was noticeable in the city, as hotels occupancy records were taken from 70 to over 90 percent and in some cases completely full.

The results obtained during these days have been positive and encouraging. There is a revival in the economy of Puerto Penasco due to increase economic activity generated in the various establishments related to tourism.

And it looks like this trend will continue in the coming weeks, there are already reports that indicate that for Easter hotel occupancy are exceeding the 80 percent mark.

"With the results obtained so far, reaffirms that Puerto Penasco is a favorite spot for vacationers from Arizona and northwestern cities of the US and Mexico. And we will continue with promotion activities both nationally and abroad, as well as the arrival of charter flights to continue consolidating Penasco as the best destination." - Mayor Alejandro Zepeda
